Welcome to the Shreveport Branch Webpage!

       The Shreveport Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers is part of the ASCE Louisiana Section and its organization and activities are centered mostly around the Shreveport metropolitan area consisting of the cities of Shreveport and Bossier City. The Branch includes 24 mostly rural parishes in north and central Louisiana that do incorporate the metropolitan areas of Monroe — the cities of Monroe and West Monroe — and Alexandria — the cities of Alexandria and Pineville. Also included in the Branch is the City of Ruston the home of Louisiana Tech University where its Civil Engineering Department supports an ASCE student chapter.

     The Branch hosts regular membership meetings and social events in and around the Shreveport area providing the opportunity for Branch members to network with fellow members in the area, and to attend high quality seminars and presentations that apply toward their professional development requirements needed to maintain engineering licensure in Louisiana. In this mix of events, there are typically two annual benchmark events. There is the annual golf tournament to support a scholarship fund for a civil engineering student at Louisiana Tech. Also there is a joint meeting in Ruston with the Louisiana Tech ASCE Student Chapter that includes other civil engineering students, the Tech faculty and other ASCE members from the Branch community. It is a social event featuring a burger burn and it is an important exercise in ASCE fellowship while marking the beginning of the Tech academic year.

     The Shreveport Branch is an entirely volunteer organization. It is represented by its annually elected leadership that forms a Board of Directors that organizes and manages its membership functions.
