Publication Schedule/Contents:

November (Annual Spring Meeting Announcement) Issue:

     The feature article is due on or around October 1 and all of the other journal contents are due on or around October 15. These dates may be modified depending on announcements or other time dependent material being published.

         Encourage all officers to get portrait quality photographs/digital images made to be published in this issue. Publish president’s photograph on front cover along with all of the photographs of branch and section officers displayed inside this issue. Schedule delivery to publisher for the journal to be in the hands of the membership in November. Features:
•         Photograph of President on Page 1 (front page)
•         Date of Section Annual Spring Meeting and Conference on Page 1
•         New officer and committee listings on Page 3
•         Photographs of branch officers in News form the Branches
•         Photographs of section officers in Section News and Information
•         Article about, and photographs from Annual Meeting including citations and photographs for
          award winners in the News from the Branches

February (Annual Spring Meeting and Conference Announcement and Reservations) Issue:

     The feature article is due on or around January 1 and all of the other journal contents are due on or around January 15. These dates may be modified depending on announcements or other time dependent material being published. The journal should be scheduled to be in the hands of the membership a minimum of 30 days before the Annual Spring Meeting and Conference.

     The Section Annual Spring Meeting and Conference will be announced on the cover and in more detail on the centerfold and the adjacent pages as may be required. The registration form including hotel accommodation information and the conference technical session agenda will appear on the opposite pages of the centerfold.

     Announce the election of officers will be on the agenda of the Annual Spring Meeting and publish the slate official nominees for the Section’s offices along with their photographs/digital images and a brief resume including their ASCE activities. This will require that the Section’s nominating committee respond to the schedule of the journal and seek approval of its recommended slate of official nominees by Section Board of Directors during its regular meeting prior to the news deadline for the journal - preferably during its December meeting.
     Schedule the journal to be in the hands of the Section’s members a minimum of 30 days before the Annual Spring Meeting and Conference. Features:

May (Annual Meeting Announcement) Issue:

     The feature article is due on or around April 1 and all of the other journal contents are due on or around April 15. These dates may be modified depending on announcements or other time dependent material being published.

         Announce the dates for the Annual Meeting on the cover. This is usually a “dead time” issue — most branches and the Section activities are somewhat dormant during the summer months. Schedule delivery to publisher for delivery to the membership in May. Features:
•           Announce the Section’s Annual Meeting on the cover if date is available
•           Article about, and photographs from Annual Spring Meeting and Conference including
              resumes and photographs of Section members who are award recipients, the outstanding
             civil engineering senior award recipients and the new life members honored
•           Article about student chapters’ including the Deep South Conference news and the results
             of the concrete canoe and steel bridge building competition
•           Announce the dates for the Annual Meeting and New Orleans Branch’s Louisiana Civil
             Engineering Conference and Show on the cover

August (Annual Meeting Reservations) Issue:

     The feature article is due on or around July 1 and all of the other journal contents are due on or around July 15. These dates may be modified depending on announcements or other time dependent material being published. The journal should be scheduled to be in the hands of the membership a minimum of 30 days before the Annual Meeting and The Louisiana Civil Engineering Conference and Show.

     The Section Annual Meeting hosted by the New Orleans Branch and the Louisiana Civil Engineering Conference and Show sponsored by the New Orleans Branch will be announced on the cover and in more detail on the centerfold and adjacent pages as required. The registration forms, hotel accommodation information and conference technical session agenda will appear on the opposite pages of the center fold and on adjacent pages as required.

The Louisiana Civil Engineering Conference and Show — clearly identified as a New Orleans Branch and American Concrete Institute Louisiana Section sponsored function — concurrently scheduled with the Annual Meeting, should be announced and. It is not a Section sponsored function.

     The journal should be delivered to the publisher and scheduled to be in the hands of the Section’s members a minimum of 30 days before the Annual Meeting. Features:
