Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)

An established Regional Civil Engineering and Surveying firm has an immediate opening for a Professional Land Surveyor / Department Manager with a background in private and public works projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, executes, and coordinates surveying services on assigned projects.
  • Utilizes creativity, foresight, and judgment in anticipating and solving technical problems.
  • Participates in business development for survey services.
  • Ensures that the technical, administrative, man-hour, and schedule requirements of the assigned projects are met and in accordance with applicable professional standards, design control procedures and survey guidelines.
  • Assures projects are in accordance with scope of services and budget.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of survey procedures, quality control, and legal principles.
  • Proficient in proposal writing, estimating, project management, and project coordination.
  • Assist the Civil Engineers in planning, coordinating and controlling field operations, and coordinate with CAD operators in completing office computations and mapping.
  • Solid experience with boundary, topographic, utilities surveying and various construction stakeouts.

Qualifications:

  • Louisiana Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS) required.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Professional Land Surveyor.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software, ARCGIS, and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Proficiency in current surveying techniques using total stations, data collectors, GPS equipment, Auto-levels, Digital Levels, and Robotic Instruments or similar.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Management Skills and ability to make independent judgments on survey related issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
