Geotechnical Engineer

CDM’s geotechnical engineers provide the full range of geotechnical and geo-environmental investigation, design and construction services for foundations, tunnels, dams and subsurface containment systems " applying leading-edge technologies, such as earth-pressure balance and slurry shield tunneling, sequential excavation method tunneling, ground freezing, roller-compacted concrete dams, and the full range of ground improvement techniques.
As a member of the Geotechnical Services Division, you would contribute to CDM's mission by: • Managing and performing geotechnical evaluations for conventional dams/levees, shallow/deep foundations, pipelines, reservoirs, solid waste, tunneling, etc. • Developing geotechnical and civil engineering components of designs • Managing and performing engineering services during construction • Assisting in business development and proposal activities. • Representing CDM in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work • Acting as a mentor for lower level geotechnical engineers • Planning, developing, coordinating, and directing several geotechnical-related projects throughout the southeast • Estimating manpower needs, and scheduling and assigning work to meet completion date • This job can be based out of New Orleans or Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree • 7 to 10 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering since B.S. • Registration as P.E. in Louisiana • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must • Experience with dams, levees, reservoirs and civil design is highly desired.
